Sebbene avesse un motore radiale, il Focke-Wulf Fw-109 tedesco era uno dei più bei caccia della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Furono prodotti circa 20.000 Focke-Wulf che, in varie versioni, furono utilizzati come caccia diurni e notturni, cacciabombardieri e per l’attacco al suolo. Una caratteristica del 190 era l’ampia carreggiata sotto il carrello, che gli conferiva una maggiore stabilità al suolo rispetto al BF-109.
