Lo Jagdpanzer 38 (t) Hetzer era un cacciacarri tedesco della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. I primi prototipi del veicolo furono creati a cavallo tra il 1943 e il 1944 e la produzione in serie continuò nel periodo 1944-1945, terminando con la produzione di circa 2.800 veicoli. L’Hetzer era alimentato da un singolo motore Prague EPA AC2800 da 160 CV. Era armato con 1 cannone PaK 39 L / 48 da 75 mm e 1 mitragliatrice MG34 o MG 42 da 7,92 mm._x000D__x000D_L’Hetzer era costruito sulla base del telaio del carro armato Panzerkampfwagen 38 (t), ma aveva una casamatta e una trasmissione completamente nuove. I suoi grandi vantaggi erano una silhouette molto bassa del veicolo, una notevole inclinazione delle piastre corazzate e un buon armamento. Inoltre, l’Hetzer poteva essere prodotto su larga scala a costi relativamente bassi, cosa molto importante per la Germania nell’ultima fase della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. La produzione avveniva soprattutto nelle fabbriche dell’azienda Skoda. L’aspetto negativo era il piccolo compartimento dell’equipaggio, che rendeva difficile il funzionamento del cannone e ne riduceva la cadenza di fuoco. Il lanciafiamme semovente Flammpanzer 38 (t) e il veicolo di supporto tecnico Bergepanzer 38 (t) furono costruiti sulla base del veicolo Hetzer. Il cacciacarri Hetzer fu utilizzato sui fronti occidentali e orientali nel periodo 1944-1945, ad esempio nelle battaglie in Polonia con l’Armata Rossa. Dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, fu ancora prodotto per l’esercito cecoslovacco con la designazione ST-1.
